Vaccinations, To Vaccinate or Not
The purpose of this article is to explain why I personally and many Natural Rearing/holistic dog breeders don’t vaccinate their puppies/dogs. If you are unfamiliar with holistic or naturopathic medicine, most of this article may not be very meaningful to you. In fact, you might even decide that anyone who doesn’t give vaccines to their puppies is insane. You are indeed welcome to your own opinions. Read more

Catherine O’Driscoll September 29 at 9:20am There’s a stead stream of dog owners who believe their dogs suffered damage from a vaccine. Their vets usually discount such a ‘coincidence’. In the 90s, Canine Health Concern conducted a vaccine damage survey. We were able to statistically prove that vaccines cause tremendous harm in our dogs within three months of a vaccine event. This is a link to survey data. It’s a bit long, and a bit technical concerning statistics, but hopefully it will give you a lot to think about.

This list gives an indication of the ingredients in common vaccines designed for children and young adults. Let’s have a close look at some of the most common ones.

Want to confidently talk to your vet about your dog’s vaccinations but don’t know what to say?
Our top vets and experts are live at this year’s NCHS, and they’re ready to crack the truth on

common vaccine misconceptions.

One of the main ways your pet’s immune system can be over-stimulated is through repetitive yearly vaccinations against diseases he is already protected against.
I recommend you find an integrative or holistic veterinarian who runs titers to measure each animal’s antibody response from previous vaccinations. Titer results will tell you whether re-vaccination is necessary, and for exactly which disease. Read more
It is clear that immunity does not come from antibodies or even ‘memory cells’, although memory cells may play a small part in the much larger processes of protecting health. If a person is healthy, first time natural exposure to a virus does not necessarily result in disease. In fact, the majority of first time exposures result in no symptoms but do result in ‘antibodies’ which ‘prove the exposure’ but also prove that immunity was present before the exposure. Total body health is the only true immunity. The concept that immunity comes from ‘memory cells’ is none-the-less valuable in that it points out that booster shots are totally unnecessary. Knowing that total health equals immunity is a basic key to understanding that vaccinations are unnecessary and ineffective. Read more
Katy (canine) developed Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (a disease where the body rejects its own blood) after her annual vaccinations. This syndrome has been shown to be associated with annual vaccinations. After 6 weeks of care the total bill was over $3000. Katy was lucky to survive. Less than 50% of dogs with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia survive. Read more

Useful questions to ponder when considering how you will interact with a law that can potentially harm your animal
Imagine it’s a bright sunny day when you let your dog out to play in your backyard. Then BAM.
You open the back door and look at your dog and your heart is aching because you think he’s just been dealt a death sentence.

There have been recent changes in the rabies laws that could mean the difference between life and death for your dog.

In the fall of 1965, Dr. Wendell Belfield, veterinarian, drew 2000 milligrams of sodium ascorbate (buffered Vitamin C) into a hypodermic syringe and injected it intravenously into a dog infected with the canine distemper virus.

In humans, the vaccines that contain aluminum adjuvants are: DTP (diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine), DTaP (diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis vaccine), some but not all Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b) conjugate vaccines, Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, Hepatitis B vaccines, all combination DTaP, Tdap, Hib, or Hepatitis B vaccines, Hepatitis A vaccines, Human Papillomavirus vaccine, Anthrax vaccine and Rabies vaccine.

Vaccines are linked to seizures. Distemper, parvovirus, rabies and, presumably, other vaccines have been linked with polyneuropathy, a nerve disease that involves inflammation of several nerves. Symptoms of polyneuropathy include muscular atrophy (wasting away of the muscle), the inhibition or interruption of neuronal control of tissue and organ function, muscular excitation (stimulation of muscle fibers), incoordination (poor muscle control or coordination), weakness, and seizures. In addition, MLV (modified live virus) vaccines are associated with the development of temporary seizures in both puppies and adult dogs that belong to susceptible breeds or crossbreeds (Dodds, 2001).

Why Vets Don’t Recognize Dog Vaccine Reactions

by Dana Scott in Vaccine Articles and News
For 30 years, Schultz has been examining the need to vaccinate animals so often and for so many diseases. “In the 1970s, I started thinking about our immune response to pathogens and how similar it is in other animals,” says Schultz. “That’s when I started to question veterinary vaccination practices.” – See more at:

Holistic Animal Health: Vaccinosis

Health Hazard of Routine Vaccination: placing our animals at risk
“Routine” vaccination has adverse side-effects, either short or long term. With vaccines that are repeated year after year, the frequency and severity of these side-effects in our pets has increased dramatically. Most of the problems involve the immune system. After all, the immune system is what vaccines are designed to stimulate. But they do so in a very unnatural way that can overwhelm and confuse the immune system.” donna starita mehan DVM
Vaccinating Unhealthy Pets: Beware Reactions & Vaccine Failure
So why shouldn’t you vaccinate a sick, stressed or geriatric pet?
For one thing, the pet may develop adverse reactions ranging from fever to seizures to autoimmune disease to anaphylactic shock and even death. Furthermore, shots administered to an unhealthy animal may fail to provide immunity while giving you the false security that your dog is protected. On top of that, the animal’s immune system, which should be fighting illness, may be diverted to handle the shot.
